When I saw the previews for Tangled this summer, I didn't really want to see this movie. At all. Not even a little bit. I was still getting over my Disney Princess coma from Princess and the Frog.
But, we were looking for an option for the younger crowd while the older crowd went to Harry Potter 7, part 1. (Did I mention that I went to the midnight showing of Harry Potter 7, part 1? Well, I did. It was the first H.P. movie I've ever seen. It was fantastic.) Back to Tangled. Imagine my surprise when it got great reviews! 89% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, for real.
Yes indeed my friends. It was well worth seeing. Clever. Fun. Made me cry. Definitely worth a matinee price.

Hot Chocolate
It's been very hard for me to accept that Starbucks has stopped selling their Signature Hot Chocolate. That was easily my favorite beverage/treat/dessert/breakfast of last winter. I imagine it tastes exactly like the Chocolate River from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Only Augutus Gloop knows for sure. All I know is it was pure heaven in a cup.
Here is an acceptable alternative. I also think it would make a lovely hostess gift for a Christmas Party. (Mental note to self: throw a Christmas Party.)
Williams and Sonoma Hot Chocolate
And if you are in store (or on the website) you might also want to pick these up because they will knock your socks off.
Peppermint Creme

By Jove, I think I've got it
You may or may not remember my dilemma regarding religious art. As you may know, I am a believer. I'd like for my home to represent my beliefs but do not want to turn it into a shrine. In general, I am not drawn to most religious art.
This summer, I purchased a picture that satisfied both my religious and artistic sensibilities - Minerva Teichert's Christ in a Red Robe. Step one. I have not put it up for several months, because it needs a frame.
Then (last night in bed when I was really wanting to be sleeping but wide awake instead) I came up with this solution:
A metal bulletin board (from Ikea) and four small magnets create an instant frame.
I am quite pleased with the result.
